Terms of Service
The deal, in plain words
Last updated 21 October 2026
The short version
- The preview is free. You only pay once you choose a plan and ask us to build your site.
- No setup fee. You pay one monthly fee that covers your website, hosting, domain, email and support.
- Plans run for 12 months to start with, then month to month. After the first 12 months you can stop any time with about a month's notice.
- Leaving during the first 12 months? Give notice and pay an early-exit fee of half the months left.
- Your domain name, your text, photos and logo are yours. The website we design and build stays ours, unless you buy it.
These terms are an agreement between you (the business signing up) and Horizon Web (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2026/772465/07 ("Horizon Web", "we", "us"). By choosing a plan and paying, you agree to them. If anything here is unclear, WhatsApp us on 071 795 3544 before you sign up and we'll explain.
1. What you get
We design, build, host and maintain a website for your business, with the features of the plan you chose (Horizon Lite, Growth or Pro) as listed on our pricing at the time you sign up. Every plan includes hosting, an SSL certificate, a .co.za domain, business email address(es) and support.
"Support" means fixing anything that stops working and helping with questions. On Growth and Pro, "monthly website updates" means reasonable small changes each month, such as new photos, prices, opening hours or a paragraph of text. Bigger jobs, like new pages or features outside your plan, are quoted separately or need a plan upgrade.
2. The free preview
The preview is free and there's no obligation to sign up. It's a design idea built from your answers. The finished website will be based on it, refined with you, and built with the features of your plan.
3. Your plan's term
Your plan starts on the day of your first payment and runs for an initial term of 12 months. After that it carries on month to month until either of us ends it as set out below.
We use a 12-month term because we don't charge a setup fee: the design and build work is paid off over the first year instead of upfront.
4. Payment
- Your monthly fee is charged in advance each month by card through Paystack, starting on the day you sign up.
- If a payment fails, we'll let you know and try again. If a payment is still outstanding after 14 days, we may pause your website until it's paid.
- We'll give you at least 20 business days' notice before any price change. Your price won't go up during your first 12 months.
5. Cancelling
After your first 12 months
Cancel any time by telling us in writing (WhatsApp or email is fine) with 20 business days' notice, roughly four weeks. There's no fee. You pay for the notice period, and no further charges are taken after it.
During your first 12 months
You can still cancel with 20 business days' written notice. Because the build cost is spread over the first year, an early-exit fee of 50% of the monthly fees left in your 12-month term applies.
What happens when your service ends
- Your website goes offline and your hosting stops.
- Your business email addresses are switched off. Please save any emails you want to keep before then; we'll remind you.
- We keep your website files for 30 days in case you change your mind or want to buy it, then delete them.
- On request, we'll send you a copy of the text, photos and logo you gave us.
If we need to end the service
We can end your service with 20 business days' notice, or sooner if fees remain unpaid for 30 days or the website is used for anything illegal or harmful. If we end it without a reason that's your doing, no early-exit fee applies.
6. Refunds
- Change of mind within 7 days: if you cancel within 7 days of your first payment and before we've started work on your website, we'll refund that payment in full. If you ask us to start straight away, the 7-day cancellation right ends once work begins.
- After work has started: monthly fees already paid aren't refundable, because they cover design, build, hosting and support work that has already been done.
- Domain fees paid to the domain registry aren't refundable.
- If we fail to deliver what your plan includes and don't fix it after you've told us, we'll make it right, which may include a refund for the affected period.
7. Who owns what
- Your domain name is yours. We register and manage it on your behalf for convenience, in your business's name where the registry allows. Once all fees are settled, we'll transfer it to you or to another provider on request, at no charge from us.
- Your content (the text, photos, logo, menus and other material you give us) stays yours. You give us permission to use it to build and run your website.
- The website itself (its design, layout, code, templates, illustrations and other assets we create) belongs to Horizon Web, unless you buy it as set out below. While you're a client, you have the right to use it for your business.
8. Keeping your website if you leave
If you'd like to take your website elsewhere, you can buy it. We'll hand over the website files for you to host anywhere you like. The once-off buyout price is the value of designing and building your website, less the monthly fees you've already paid us. We'll give you the exact amount in writing before you decide, and there's no obligation to go ahead.
If you buy your website during the first 12 months, the buyout replaces the early-exit fee; you don't pay both.
9. Domain and email
- Every plan includes a .co.za domain. We cover the renewal cost up to R200 each time it renews. If a domain you choose costs more, we'll tell you first and charge only the difference.
- Business email: Lite includes 1 address, Growth up to 5, and Pro unlimited addresses (within fair use).
10. Changing plan
You can move up to a bigger plan at any time. The new monthly fee starts from your next payment, and we add the extra features once the upgrade is in place. Moving up doesn't restart your 12-month term. If you'd like to move to a smaller plan, talk to us and we'll explain what changes on your site.
11. Your side of the deal
- Send us the information, photos and logo we need. Our 7-day launch promise starts once we have everything.
- Only give us content you're allowed to use, and make sure the claims on your website (prices, qualifications, reviews) are true.
- Don't use your website or email for anything illegal, misleading or harmful, including spam.
- Keep your login details for any client area private.
12. Liability
We work hard to keep your website online and secure, but we can't promise it will never be down or that it will bring a particular number of customers. As far as the law allows, we're not responsible for indirect losses such as lost profits, and our total responsibility to you is limited to the fees you've paid us in the 3 months before the problem. Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Consumer Protection Act or other South African law.
13. General
- We may update these terms. We'll give clients at least 20 business days' notice of important changes, and they won't change your price or term during your first 12 months.
- These terms are governed by South African law.
- If there's a problem, please tell us first and we'll try to sort it out quickly and fairly.
- Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
